Girllllaaaa where have you been? I know y’all I totally neglected my blog and life has just been life-ing!! But I’m back . If you follow me on the Gram then you may know a little bit. Let me catch you up right quick…My daughter graduated from high school with honors in May 2022. She had a great freshman year at North Carolina A & T. Can I get an Aggie Pride!!
Over the summer she worked at the UPS Store, and it was such a treat to have her home. We had our annual mommy-daughter vacation out of the country this past July. This time we went to Punta Cana, DR, and babbbyyy a time was had!! The Live Aqua Adults Only Resort is so beautiful. We enjoyed everything from horseback riding, 90-minute massages along the beach, and Dinner In The Sky. Parents travel with your children and create priceless memories because they will remember it forever.
My baby is now a sophomore, living in an apartment with three of her friends and they all have their cars and just blossoming so well. I’m one proud mommy!!
It has been a whirlwind of emotions adjusting to being almost five hours away from my baby. We have never been away from each other for more than a few weeks so I cried like a baby her first year in college. I’m doing much better now and kind of enjoying being an empty nester. I feel so free. I’m doing things that make me happy, picking up things I put down, and embracing this journey of self-discovery.
Have any of you experienced empty nesting? How did you cope with it? What things did you learn about yourself? I would love to hear about it!
